MONDAY JULY 15TH
Awesome training session today, a straight hour without rest; 15mins skipping, 15mins bagwork, 15 mins shadowboxing and 15mins of Ab-work. Then we got into some sparring (videos below).
Last Friday all of the boxers, trainers and the organisers/promoters met up at the gym in Kerikeri to go over details, try on gears for sizing and MEET OUR OPPONENTS! I have to say, my opponent seems like a real nice guy and luckily we are very evenly matched physically - he's a fair bit older than me, but I'm not taking that as an advantage necessarily. From all accounts he's super fit and agile and anyone who has any experience in boxing knows that fitness and stamina counts for a lot!
I have been running the last 2 mornings (3.5kms) and plan to run every morning right up til fight day - so long as I can stay motivated to do so!
