WEDNESDAY MAY 1ST
I just got home from a sweet training and sparring session - it was great to have so many there to spar, so we could rotate around with opponents. I got four rounds of 'in the centre' sparring in and 2 of full ring sparring. As usual, ate a few hits (including the dreaded left ribs again) and dished some out as well =)
Exercise and general training has been going okay too, although I can't help but feel that my fitness has stagnated at best, or even slipped a bit - hell knows why, its not for lack of training. Might be time to switch things up, maybe I've plateaued and need a shake up!
My weight is still at 75 kg's and my goal now is to lose one more and get to 74 to give me a buffer kilo to ensure I weight in at no more than 75 come fight night - which by the way is set at SATURDAY AUGUST 3RD! Oh shit! Haha
I finally got round to installing my double end bag in the garage, so now I have a punch bag, a speed bag and the double end bag - man those are hard to hit as they move fast and at different angles. They say its good hand to eye co-ordination activity as it mimicks a fast moving, unpredictable opponent most closely (Pic of one at bottom).
The other training tool I've added to the arsenal is, wait for it - A BMX BIKE! Yip, its small as (just a 19" frame) and can only be ridden standing up - which is actually a great all over body workout in itself - the added bonus of course is that Kaikohe is a fairly flat town so its a good little mode of transport too!
I found this guys video on Youtube last night and its pretty darn cool. His strength, fitness, agility and balance is wicked - check it out!
