It's been a good week, with some pretty hard training and some great sparring lessons too - by great I mean hard and humbling. I'm dealing with the realities of fighting and applying the skills and controlling my fear, energy and flinch reactions - basically ITS WAY MORE DIFFICULT THAN IT LOOKS! All good though, a wise fulla once told me 'when you're struggling you're learning' so I must be learning heaps lol!
I've had a few spars with Joe Tane, who has been a good partner for the fact that we're both relatively inexperienced, similar weight and height and keen to learn. He's still naturally more athletic and nearly 20 years younger but thats cool, makes me work harder! (a short vid of us at it above)
I also had a good sparring lesson with Patricia (yes, a woman!) and as she's experienced with a few fights under her belt she had some good tips - BUT - she said she'll hunt me down if I posted that video !!! =P
My goals to improve at the moment are specific:
* Jab a lot more
* Judge range better (get closer)
* Move around more
* Keep my chin down
